Automatic Gate Installation in DFW

Automate a driveway, community or commercial gate the right way. A1 installs slide, swing and barrier arm gate operators with the safety devices and entry controls that make them reliable, for homes, HOAs and businesses across Dallas–Fort Worth.

Automatic Gate Installation Done Right

An automatic gate is only as good as its installation. The operator has to match the gate’s size, weight and daily traffic, the gate has to move freely, and the safety devices have to be placed and wired correctly. A1 Security Gate & Intercom plans each automatic gate installation around how the entrance is actually used, then installs and tests the full system before we hand it over.

We automate new and existing gates for private driveways, gated communities, apartment complexes, offices, warehouses and commercial lots. Because we also install access control, call boxes and security cameras, the gate and the way people get through it are designed together.

Gate Types We Automate

  • Slide gates — a good fit for wide openings, sloped driveways and commercial sites with limited swing space
  • Swing gates — single or dual swing gates for residential driveways and estate entrances
  • Barrier arm gates — fast vehicle control for parking lots, business parks and community entrances
  • Pedestrian gates — electric locks and access control for walk-through gates next to the vehicle entrance

For gate operators we install LiftMaster and DoorKing equipment, and we size the operator to the gate and how many times a day it will cycle. Not sure whether a slide or swing gate fits your property? See our swing vs. sliding gate guide.

Safety Comes Standard

Automatic gates are heavy, powerful machines. The UL 325 standard requires entrapment protection on automatic gate operators, so every installation includes the photo eyes, edge sensors and vehicle loops the gate needs to stop and reverse safely. We also look at pedestrian traffic, children and pets, and emergency vehicle access when we plan the layout.

Entry Options We Add

  • Remotes and vehicle transmitters
  • Keypads with resident, staff and delivery codes
  • Call boxes and telephone entry for visitors
  • Card readers, key fobs and mobile credentials with access control
  • Video intercoms so you can see who is at the gate
  • Free-exit loops, timers and hold-open schedules
  • Battery backup so the gate keeps working during a power outage

What Affects the Cost

Every gate is different, so we price each installation after seeing the site. The main factors are the gate type, size and weight, the operator and how many cycles a day it needs to handle, the distance to power, trenching or concrete work, and which entry devices you want. Some cities and HOAs also require a permit or design approval first — see our DFW permit guide. For typical price ranges, read our gate installation cost guide.

Installation estimates are free and in writing, and our work is backed by a 1-year parts and labor warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about automatic gate installation in Dallas–Fort Worth.

Can you automate my existing gate?
Often, yes. If the gate is in good condition, moves freely and is strong enough for an operator, we can add a slide or swing operator, safety devices and entry controls. If the gate needs repairs or changes first, we’ll tell you during the site visit.
Should I choose a slide gate or a swing gate?
Slide gates work well for wide openings, sloped driveways and sites without room for a gate to swing. Swing gates are common on residential driveways with enough flat space. We recommend the right type after seeing your property.
Which gate operator brands do you install?
We install LiftMaster and DoorKing gate operators and size the operator to the gate’s weight, length and daily traffic.
Do I need a permit for an automatic gate?
It depends on the city, and HOAs often have their own approval process. Our DFW permit guide explains what we know about local requirements, and we’ll discuss permitting with you before the project starts.
How much does automatic gate installation cost?
Cost depends on the gate type and size, the operator, the distance to power, site work and the entry devices you choose. Installation estimates are free and in writing, and our work is backed by a 1-year parts and labor warranty.
